Been saying this for the past month. Close your accounts at any bank.Go to your local credit union and open an account. Its run by and for the people.
We should also keep in mind, in addition to credit unions, another option is non profit community banks. I have had some trouble finding a credit union near me that allows me to also have a checking account. But through discussion in the neighborhood and at local occupy movements, I hear a lot about the good community banks do for their communities.
