Landmark European court of human rights judgment says CIA tortured wrongly detained German citizen.
But late in the day on the VERY SAME day - 28 people were murdered at Hooks Elementary School in Connecticut.
Guess which story is making the news cycle.

Joe Scarborough says the movie, "Zero Dark Thirty," proves torture works.
Except it doesn’t, as "Zero Dark Thirty" screenwriter, Mark Boal, blithely admits in The New Yorker:
The film includes wrenching scenes of a terrorist suspect being waterboarded and subjected to other forms of torture by C.I.A. operatives; the suspect eventually surrenders information that helps lead to bin Laden. Director, Katherine Bigelow, maintains that everything in the film is based on first-hand accounts, but the waterboarding scene, which is likely to stir up controversy, appears to have strayed from real life. According to several official sources, including Dianne Feinstein, the head of the Senate Intelligence Committee, the identity of bin Laden’s courier, whose trail led the C.I.A. to the hideout in Pakistan, was not discovered through waterboarding. “It’s a movie, not a documentary,” Boal said. “We’re trying to make the point that waterboarding and other harsh tactics were part of the C.I.A. program.” Still, Bigelow said, “the film doesn’t have an agenda, and it doesn’t judge. I wanted a boots-on-the-ground experience.”

The father of Connecticut school shooter Adam Lanza, Peter Lanza, was the tax director for General Electric, a corporation that paid -0- taxes on 14.2 billion dollars in profits last year. According to Fabian4Liberty, Peter Lanza was scheduled to testify in the ongoing global LIBOR scandal. In what could only be described an amazing coincidence, the father of Colorado Batman shooter James Holmes, Robert Holmes, was also a LIBOR witness in his position with FICO. According to the link at FICO, Robert Holmes was a ‘Fraud Scientist’.

I just saw that. Unreal eh? I think we should be careful though. There's going to be a lot of propaganda out there that will be hard to weed through; and if this turns out to be a hoax (movie edited), it could detract from the main story - That the two shooters' fathers were whistleblowers about to testify in the LIBOR case. If JUST that alone is true, then it says volumes about what's going on. If however it is in the movie; it opens up a whole new can of worms.

Torture has been going on since the beginning of time. Theres a reason for that. Its horrible yes, and we should not be doing it. If you want to listen to a director and Feinstein, thats on you.
OK, battlefield torture has always gone on. That's an ugly fact of life. But,
How does that relate to the torture of innocents caught up in questionable dragnets? If your neighbor falsely reported you as a possible terrorist because a) he wanted the reward or b) he wanted your wife or c) no discernible reason, would it be ok with you that you be tortured till you plead guilty to terrorism (you would say anything to stop the pain (which is why torture is not effective))? Your health and sanity (assuming you survived) would just be collateral damage right? So would it be fine with you?
Guantanamo is full of such falsely accused non-terrorists. This is known but they were tortured anyway. Why? Terrorism theater. The thinking behind Guantanamo and widespread torture is evil, pure evil. Light against Darkness. Good vs. evil.
Finally, on a lesser note, Americans don't torture because torturers aren't American. They are unAmerican, haters-of-American-ideals, haters-of-the-Constitution pieces of filth.

I think that is our ideals. but I think our government is currently the Michael Jordan of Torturing.
Yes our government has been infected/hijacked by an evil criminal elite with no morality that besmirches our good name, that brings shame to all of us. We need to reclaim our American ideals, reclaim and wrap ourselves in the flag -- if they want to fight OWS they will have to 'trample it under'.

For me, it's kind of a leap to think the CIA was involved, but I am definitely curious about the man they found in the woods behind the school. Did they let him go because they found the dead shooter in the school and they thought that was it? Or because the man was clearly not involved? I wish there was an interview with the police about this. I would hate to think a second shooter was there and got away.
The CIA is already guilty of torture, murder, and drug smuggling. And there are facts to prove this. But for some reason they still exist.

Peter lanza is alive in stamford conn. tax director and vice president taxes at ge energy financial services. The Stamford Advocate is reporting that the father of Adam Lanza, the man who killed 20 young children and six others at Sandy Hook Elementary school, is not dead despite being included in earlier reports. Peter Lanza did not comment to a Stamford reporter when asked about the incident.
The initial confusion as to the whereabouts came from the report of a dead body being found at 36 Yogananda Street in Newtown. That body is now believed to be the mother of Adam Lanza. She had already been incorrectly identified as being killed at the school. Lanza is believed to have driven her car to the school.
