CBS announced today that we shouldnt be whinning about the high gas prices in America because Great Britain is paying double the price, The one thing they failed to tell the American people is that the cost of living is alot higher in Great Britain than in America therefore the price of oil is alot higher.Great Britain also has fewer resources to obtain there oil supply. CBS failed to tell the American public that we have more rescources to obtail oil to keep the fuel prices here lower such as our off shore oil wells in the gulf of mexico and other oil wells in our coastal lines and oil wells located inland in America like in Texas, Oklahoma, Alaska, etc. etc. CBS is trying to decieve the public with insuffcient information. In Other words they are trying to compare the cost for a gallon of milk in Waco,TX to a gallon of milk in Mannhattan,NY ( The British pound is currently at $1.58 in American Dollars) its more than obvious that they well be paying alot more for stuff.

Oil prices have gone up and down in synch the world over. Those prices are based on commodity brokers and speculators, not who happens to be in the White house at any given moment. America's domestic oil supply accounts for 2-3% of the oil it consumes, so there is very little difference between Great Britain's resources and ours.

And if the US stopped subsidizing oil companies and giving them tax breaks, the price at eh pump would be about double what we see. The real price everyone is paying is closer to $10.00 dollars per gallon of gas when you factor in those costs.
