Forum Post: Build consensus through polling?

Polling protestors and forum members and creating a page of results would provide a way to show the things that people are concerned with, and where we share common ground with most stability. By polling yourselves on this site you retain control of your results so they can't be manipulated. Fringe ideas will show up for what they are. Trolls should show up as a predictable statistical artifact. It will provide a consolidated area to view the ideas people have and perhaps suggest future directions to discuss.
When you actually get a person elected then come talk to the rest of America like the Tea Party!
The tea party is a cohesive group. They share an ideological worldview. This is not about ideology, but the very real way those represented by wall street are impacting our lives in a negative way. And the rest of America is already here....
Polls would be a very effective way to determine what your views or points of contention really are. It would make my job-the 'troll' more understanding of what your true intentions with our country are. And, I might actually learn something

I have an open-mind... Thankfully, I can determine between worth and trash. Abstract, and contradicting thought have no place in my ideologies. I might appear as a 'statistical artifact', as one who cannot open my mind to devolved thought promoted as the evolved human condition... I would rather be an artifact, than an individual who has no real sense of reality
Life is not a one or a zero...abstract thought is a way to process the infinite realm between the two, and life is full of contradictions...ignoring them doesn't make them go away. Rigidity of thought is also linked to earlier mortality. Discerning worth from trash requires little higher thinking. Did you know even bugs won't eat margarine? Own your brain...stretch it...it's fun! And let that stress and hostility go...they are also associated with early mortality as well as reduced quality of life. No one is threatening you. Improving our country is not scary.
contradictions don't exist my friend.. It might appear as though they do-all you need to do is check your premises. There are absolutes.
