Broken but sanguine, Trump touts Glorious Capitalist Triumph: "For the first time ever, the DOW tops 30,000!" This after prediction that stock market would crash if he lost the election.

Of course the followers of the Trump Cult have not been informed by their messiah that he's lost the election. He knows admission of defeat will make fundraising all but impossible and there's a lot of campaign debt he must pay, if he ever hopes to be included in the political process again. A bankruptcy this time would be political suicide. Whatever! Trump has allowed the transition to begin and that announcement coincided with the stock market surge.

On the same day, Tuesday November 24, 2020, that the FIRE sector's health indicator reached 30k, food banks around the US also moved into record territory. Unprecedented numbers of supplicants many (or perhaps most) who have never accessed charitable help before, are suffering from unemployment or low pay. Millions of children are hungry in America and the number is growing fast. But the DOW is growing just as fast. Aren't we lucky to live in this capitalist utopia?

"What I see every day from the pandemic is amazingly-increased numbers of severely underweight children coming to our clinic, and parents really panicked about how they’re going to find enough food," says Dr. Megan Sandel. See theintercept.com Sept. 23. https://theintercept.com/2020/09/23/hunger-food-insecurity-coronavirus-children-census/

"... food insecurity more than doubled as a result of the economic crisis brought on by the outbreak, hitting as many as 23% of households ..." from npr.org on 9/27 from an article on "food insecurity." https://www.npr.org/2020/09/27/912486921/food-insecurity-in-the-u-s-by-the-numbers

And it's only grown worse since September. But the Wall St. billionaires have grown fatter in these lean times. Trump and the Republicans, along with too many compromising Democrats, continue to elicit the conditioned responses. The commonly installed belief is: banks', investors' and the rest of the FIRE sector's rentier profits are the source of prosperity for all Americans.

Do you still double-think that capitalism works for everyone? If so, it's time to WAKE THE FUCK UP!

Broken, we remain true to our indoctrination and conditioning.
