Beautiful! Its amazing how a positive message like this makes you feel so light compared to hateful dark messages. This is the feeling we need to spread throughout OWS and the world, to throw off the balance of negativity to positivity. I know how hokey that sounds, but it is powerful.

[-] 2 points by rayolite (461) 12 years ago

The real power happens when the positivity and love goes to work on the ground on meaningful projects of all types.

1) Short term, dealing with more immediate needs.

2) Long term, clearly restoring the US constitution, 'cause from what I can see, it is the only thing that has a chance of stopping this process of corporate dominace for material existence placing power over love.

[-] 1 points by energy (30) 12 years ago

It has become increasingly obvious that it IS the only thing (at least the only peaceful thing) that has a chance of stopping this insanity.

When you see the lunatics in Washington systematically dismantling the constitution so they can further their criminal agenda, it is clear that they are afraid of the repercussions of being unlawful in the face of it. If it wasn't such a powerful set of laws, they wouldn't be trying to get rid of it.

OMG, haven't seen a thread with so much feeling, the right feeling in quite a while. Thanks!

Excellent message. Very conscious, very rational while spiritual. Simple guidence with sophisiticated delivery.

Here is another video from 2008, Melborne Australia, a street performer, DubFX. It's raw, quite spontaneous in comparision. Titled "Love Someone". A live performance of a man baring his soul in compassion and benevolence, solo artistry, skill.

That was SO cool !! Contemporary, yet I could feel all the ancestral generations of tribal wisdom emanating. Like crepuscular rays. I had goosebumps for most of the performance....and 13,000,000 views!! May I have your permission to post this on a musical thread here?

[-] 1 points by rayolite (461) 12 years ago

You got it! Indigenous Australians taught him how to care and share. The woman selling CD's in the brief glimpses of here, seems like she might have that indigenous ancestry mixed in.

I can tell he loves her by the way he acknowledges her in the beginning, so they have a dream together for the children they may bring into the world. He sources his creative compassionate empathetic soul to protect that potential dream, and she knows it too and works to maintain the material realm they share by selling CD's.

I'm hoping people can read between the lines here and honor the intents seen and heard in these videos.

Not mine to give, but I'm sure DubFX would love that you shared, and shared.

Very nice. Who says that there is no one keepen it real anymore?

[-] 2 points by rayolite (461) 12 years ago

I was told once by a Medicine man, "the greater meaning of free speech is found in the listening, not the speaking".

[+] -6 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 12 years ago

Listening is a great tool to finding truth. Listening seems to be an endangered art that is being reborn. Listening provides material for consideration and objectivity.

[-] 2 points by rayolite (461) 12 years ago

The beginning of human history is found in listening, then in speaking. Considering the numbers of books burned, then our own "dumbing down" starting in 1912 (see Norman Dodd), the only record that exists of many vital things for humanity, may be in the human mind.

After all, where does knowledge mean anything more than that, spoken or heard?

[+] -6 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 12 years ago

Or written!

All forms of communication require thought and consideration. That is why I have never been a believer in speed reading.

[-] 1 points by rayolite (461) 12 years ago

I agree! Okay, I found one for you.

It that shows that just reading or writing might not engage the left or cognitive mind. It is known that when speaking or listening the left or cognitive processes are always involved to some degree.

Albeit, there is always the possibility that the conscious is conditioned within certain responses.

So reading and writing might not use the cognitive? Wow! That is profound. The implications of America reading and writing on the web, while trying to defend its future are seriously impaired.

Maybe that's why some here advocate revision of the first amendment, so commercial television is forced to bring facts to the people with the spoken word.

[-] 0 points by Reneye (118) 12 years ago

I hear you, hehe! What's very interesting lately, is the innate knowledge that entertainers know just how well they understand that music affects the cognitive mind. Oral information. Some are doing what they can to reveal what the elite lunatics. Lauryn Hill is one of them and then I found this one from Chris de Burgh....

The best thing about this message is that each and every one of us can practice behaving out of love rather than fear/hate, right here and right now. Before we speak or write a word, examine our motive. If it is anything but a positive motive, we should be silent or change it. One person changes his or her approach and it affects everyone with whom that person interacts. This is what it means to be the change you want to see in the world. Demand from yourself before you demand from others.

[-] 2 points by beautifulworld (23771) 12 years ago

Ain't that the truth.

[-] 1 points by rayolite (461) 12 years ago

Yep, but expand it. Love and understanding.

For sure!

From The Dhammapada:

For hatred does not cease by hatred at any time; hatred ceases by love - this is an eternal rule.

It is good to tame the mind, which is difficult to hold in, and flighty, rushing wheresoever it listeth: a tamed mind brings blessings.

The fool who knows his foolishness is wise so far, at least; but a fool who thinks himself wise, he is called a fool indeed.

There is no fire like passion; there is no shark like hatred; there is no snare like folly; there is no torrent like greed.

Travel only with thy equals or thy betters; if there are none, travel alone.

As in the vid linked here, my "message" is that I choose to live in the light; in the world of possibilities.

more beauty to live by ~

Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.

Life is beauty, admire it.

Life is bliss, taste it.

Life is a dream, realize it.

Life is a challenge, meet it.

Life is a duty, complete it.

Life is a promise, fulfill it.

Life is sorrow, overcome it.

Life is a song, sing it.

Life is a struggle, accept it.

Life is a tragedy, confront it.

Life is an adventure, dare it.

Life is luck, make it.

Life is too precious, do not destroy it.

Life is life, fight for it.

~ Mother Teresa

How interesting. Essentially life is everything and everywhere and for some strange reason we look for it elsewhere. We'd rather think that somehow a magical intervening GOD who looks human will come save ourselves from ourselves while we see what's really happening on our planet is we're slowly but surely destroying.

I'm glad Mother Teresa doubted her belief in Jesus, it shows she was just like us, human.

Yes, this is the beauty. We're surrounded by it. Embrace the duality.

What we give is what we get? Not at all. What you do for yourself determines what you will get in life.

Work hard, study and become a doctor, lawyer or graphics designer. You'll get a lot.

Take it easy and give your time/money to others, you won't get anything back.

I remember helping this lady for two years, doing plumbing, carpentry, electrical work, driving her around, teaching her to speak English. Then I stopped cold when I realized she was just taking advantage of me, playing the "poor immigrant". Funny thing is, after I quit she found others to do all her work. She even told me Americans are suckers...

[-] 3 points by Dumpthechump (96) 12 years ago

Everyone should read VERY CAREFULLY all the replies on this thread. They demonstrate (especially Frank's here) that human capacities and characters are extremely individual and idiosyncratic - precluding any Libertarian Socialist solution to mankind's woes.

It hardly needs stressing that we have to somehow engender this love for the earthly environment and bring mankind together in a productively united system.

Hard workers like Frank who are short of money and time have to be occupied productively. If they can't love others they can love themselves usefully and productively!

[-] 1 points by rayolite (461) 12 years ago

I understand what you are saying, and I think it is very thoughtful that you ask people to read "VERY CAREFULLY all the replies on this thread". I recommend it also.

Your second paragraph is very much an absolute I reiterate often. Thank you! The more often I see that plainly said, the more hope I have for humanity:) -

I would criticize the uses of the word "idiosyncratic", although I agree you've technically used it properly. I assert that humanity has dissociated the true root of the word, as they have that of "idiot" and "idea".

Through this nonsense forum I've found a trove of characters, one of which apparently took the biggest group of conservative blowhard, deceiving themselves so they do not have to know difficult things, on a total journey relating to his efforts to expose a truth about societies efforts to understand a tragedy that was dissociated for the same reasons as the word definition that I bring up here. They made a video about it in a reverse persecution of their deep shortcomings in dealing with the tragedy in any reasonable, comprehensive and tangible way.

http://algoxy.com/psych/images2/christopheraKICKSjref.mov

Here is the page explaining the issue the target of that video has with the words and their meanings that inspired such an ad hominem from those that try and pretend to be an authority. Kind of disturbing for me that such connections with words can be dissociated to this degree, perhaps proving in an indirect fashion that the meanings attached there, are indeed real.

This is why there is growing support to fight corruption. It is time and long past time to work together for the good of ALL.

Support Health and prosperity for all and in so doing you also support fellowship and love.

It is only looked on as hokey by the ones who would dissuade you.
