Why are our seniors paying higher taxes on their social security benefits than billionaires pay on stocks?

The IRS released a new report that reveals the staggering amount of money that the top one-thousandth of the 1% in the US is hoarding.

While the top earners in the bottom 50 percent of Americans only make 36,000 dollars a year - the bottom earners in the top one-thousandth of the 1% "only make" more than 62 million dollars a year.

Sixty-two million dollars per year is what it takes to be a top one-thousandth one percenter - and those are the poorest of the richest households - on average the top earners make more than 160 million dollars a year.

That's 160 times richer than the average one percenter who only makes about 1.5 million dollars.

That's an obscene concentration of wealth - but that's not the most outrageous part of the story, because those top earners are paying a lower tax rate than working class Americans and retirees.

From: http://www.truth-out.org/opinion/item/31201-who-pays-taxes-in-the-us-everyone-but-the-super-rich by Thom Hartmann whose commitment to The US 99% is clear, cogent, compassionate and consistent so maybe ''Anonymous'', should 'viralize' that + Those cruel girls in your video were German I believe but their victim certainly was. I've nothing against Germans - but their Banking Parasite Class is particularly venal! Consider Yannis Varoufakis - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qNItYoJhgmk Solidarity Nevada and truthfully - going back to the root is often the best http://reclaimdemocracy.org/powell_memo_lewis/

Here relive your glory weekend at the left forum: Watch Left Forum 2015 on @Livestream: http://livestream.com/accounts/6754733/events/4070733?t=1432944150317

From what I've seen of it - it is perfect for you = a lot of protest anger angst shared anguish and absolutely no forwarding of public action to be taken to gain control.

[-] 0 points by lugano (1221) 8 years ago

Still scared of ''protest (and) anger'', huh? Stay inside your conservative, reactionary box - or Move On (dot org) + fyi: http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article42029.htm Change Over Time but asap!

[-] 0 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 8 years ago

I have never been scared of protest - I have however been very saddened by protest that fails because it takes no united public political action. The protest that takes no accompanying political public action does not seem to much bother the powers that be either - they just eat popcorn and watch the police abuse the protestors.

Consider ''Americans lag way behind the rest of the world in political thinking, but it may not be entirely their fault. We have a corporate media that merely acts as a mouthpiece for the official government line and champions the cause of corporatism in this country - so Americans never really get to hear or see what is going on.''

Read the rest of this article here http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article41790.htm and think on it, meditate upon what it may mean for The 99% .. but stop looking to bicker with me and everyone else.

Consider: IF you 'Don't Know Anything today'; you're fkt tomorrow - as you've forgotten about Yesterday!

[-] 0 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 8 years ago

Lugey? Lugey? What's the matter you old blob of snot? Did you dry up in the sun while lying in the gutter where you were hawked-up?

Or are you stunned that you did not realize (you forgot?) that in the yesterday - that people fought back politically?

[-] 0 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 8 years ago

Continued: I mean you already have (by your own description) - rethuglicans (fish in a barrel?) that are obvious targets to be removed from office.

So...................Why is it that you don't campaign for that? at the very least.

[-] 0 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 8 years ago

BTW - did you know that in the yesterday of more than 40 years ago - that it was largely labor unions that united and cast their votes for supporters of the union (working folk - supporters) - that caused many great victories for the working individual?

Did not understand that?

Lets try again.

People - united in action - voting "in" their supporters = victories for the whole working population over the wealthy.

Were there protests?

You Bet.

But there was also united political action.

WTFU you dullard. Or continue on with your BS and confirm that you are a 1% supporter that is just trying to get people to opt-out.

''Citizens United'' was born of the contents of http://reclaimdemocracy.org/powell_memo_lewis/ which I specifically provided above so as to reference the 40+ year old root of most of the problems in US - but you have failed to grasp that or the metaphorical nature of my use of ''Yesterday''and then proceeded to sound off .. like the empty vessel making most noise here.

The fact that you did so many replies bleating for my attention - but that you failed to remove/delete the most retarded response, attests to a very special kind of narcissism on your part. You should really try to change your ways and ask yourself .. what purpose your abrasive, boorish, cantankerous and frankly - rather 'dark' behavior, is now serving on this OWS Forum.

There's more than one road to similar destinations and several points along the way. Activism, agitating, communicating, educating, organising, sharing, voting etc. Etc. ETc. ETC.! Voting Dem and expecting anything from Dem POTUS Billary Clinton ... is exactly what The 1% Dem Pols want from their "base"!

I get that like others here, that you are all long term Democratic Party voters and of course there is no shame in that (because wtf else would you have done?) - BUT why have some folded themselves into the mindset and persona of Dem Party Pols & what do we actually think that OWS is really all about?

Of course ''Rethuglicans'' are unconscionable psychopaths - we know this and they are beyond the pale but the USA's Duopolistic System doesn't need or want Democraps To Be Exactly The Same, as it just needs them To Be NOT Different Enough to maintain The Illusion of Choice so that The Banker,Oligarch and Corporate Tyranny and Imperialist System ... can just continue unchecked, unrealised and unseen.

The American people have been ''Good Cop / Bad Copped'' for generations. FDR'd now be considered a Pinko Commie and JFK was probably the last Dem POTUS who had The 99% at heart ... but Obomber and Billary are NOT of that ilk and you know this. Thus a Mass Movement of The 99% is what is needed.

Finally, do try to consider: http://www.truth-out.org/opinion/item/30978-movement-builders-should-listen-to-bernie-sanders-focus-on-mass-action-not-candidates - and perhaps also consider ... http://www.truth-out.org/opinion/item/30936-the-left-matters-now-more-than-ever - These good articles are very important.

It is getting ever more difficult and unpleasant dealing with you - but maybe that's the desired effect and tho' you weren't always like this - I will struggle on because ... well, I wonder IF you can imagine 'why?'.
