The American revolution wasn't about a tax on tea. It was about royal monopolies like the East India Company. They and the rest of the crown licensed rackets were the tyranny our forefathers overthrew. The King and Royal Peers forbade Americans to trade on our own. We could only buy what the aristocrats' monopolies brought us. We could only sell to aristocratic middles.

Today Americans are afflicted by abusive economic practices much as we were in 1776. The Wall St billionaire investors, with their corporations, own and operate almost all production and trade of the goods and services we depend on for life. Worse, they own and operate the politicians [especially conservatives] that we elect to run our government. The right wing populism that has dominated America since at least 1980 fails to recognize the source of contemporary American tyranny.

Right wing revolutionaries blame all the corporatist evil on liberal government. They don't even know that Corporatism is a marriage of corporate and state power that Mussolini promoted as a better title for fascism. It's the corporations and the their monopolies, oligopolies and secret trusts that own and operate everything, including the government, in the name of the investors.

But today's economic tyrants have really good PR. They keep the workers and poor fooled with television, news media, movies and public education that support the Wall St. Oligarchs' (including Trump's and the Republicans') agenda. The children of the rich are educated in private schools. There they learn to see and control a much different world than exists in our perception. They learn how to spin their right wing bullshit and appeal to the worst in us. They foment racism, intolerance, selfishness, greed etc. And so we allow ourselves to be conditioned to support their domination of our world.

It was also about theft, the Monarchy owned the land by international agreement, much like the Jews own Israel, but people who lived here thought they should own the land, so they went to war. Ownership is a tricky thing,

We still have "licensed rackets" going. Generally speaking, regulations' selective enforcement breeds corruption. Trump grew up, survived, and prospered in this swamp with his phalanx of lawyers. Blue states have fertile cesspool effluent ( i.e. many regulations ) for making a swamp. ( Singapore's old way to deal with corruption was to make its officials so well paid that corruption made no sense, economic or otherwise. The U.S. populace would rather have the officials to cost little and be "on the take." We have a president who is paid no salary by us at all ! Mom's selection for high-quality ingredients usually started with 《便宜没好货,好货不便宜。》I actually wondered before why Trump in his relatively old age would still run for the Presidency { it's a strenuous exercise with no guarantee of what could be dredged up by the opposition such as "Who put the pubic hair on my Coke(R) ? " } and the answer is clear--he still owes a lot of money so the office helps make him and his organization much money to pay down his debts. An inheritance of debts left over for his children to pay back is not glorious.

The U.S. national debt is a whole different beast altogether because the U.S. uses the privately owned "federal reserve" notes as currency which have this phrase printed upon each one of them: "This note is legal tender for all debts public or private"--the debt associated with the loan created when the U.S. needed currency by borrowing with interest from the "U.S. Federal Reserve" cannot be repaid with the issued currency because in a year the U.S. needs to pay back US$102 for a US$100 loan of currency due to the interest rate of 2% on the currency borrowed so paying back the national debt is inherently impossible and the national debt must grow in order to avoid a liquidity crunch. The national debt is therefore a fiction actually depending on the credibility of the U.S. based upon "America, the beautiful."

The U.S. can pay with what it can design and produce ( in asynchrony, which once integrated via genetic algorithms is inherently superior to the slower-response-time synchrony practiced by the U.S.S.R. and Red China: better, stronger, and faster; this systemic quality which demands a bit more intelligence of each processing element leaves the centralized-planned economies behind { except in a single case in which each processing element's processing time is equal to each other and shorter than the average processing time of asynchrony thus saving any needed intelligence -- identically fast automata "cogs in a machine" suffice; U.S. being huge and diverse can never achieve this en masse but the same processing law holds for everyone thereby making the huge ones U.S.S.R. and Red China brittle } and these in competition falter over the longer term; "glasnost," "perestroika," "Socialism with Chinese characteristics," "intellectual-property thefts { Red China didn't have the culture to innovate so it had to steal or coerce technology transfer with the force of the state, } " etc. were all efforts by failed economic systems to catch up; Mom had said before: 《三個臭皮匠,抵一諸葛亮。》in coming up with innovations but for certain breakthroughs, I say: 《一個諸葛亮, 抵三臭皮匠。》so it's important to perceive accurately the nature of the task at hand; "quantity has a quality all its own" but "insufficient quality despite quantity may never break through"; the U.S. has diversity of opinions about most things so that feeds well into genetic algorithms as long as we know and can impose what we want to select for; a quality mind shut in by informational firewalls can experience mental blocks and often inescapable apparent dead-ends ) such as soy/soya beans, corn, wheat, etc. arising from the sun acting unevenly on the water ( oceans, rivers, and the Great Lakes,) mountain ranges ( Appalachians, Rockies, Sierra Nevada, etc.), geomagnetic field, etc. left by Earth's formation from Theia's collision with proto-Earth; Joe Biden is even older than Trump, so for what is he running for the Presidency? For his children, too ? We have Paternalism so neither Mama nor children will cry about their eviction in "Capitalism with American characteristics," right ?

Yeah, I heard of "draining the damn swamp" so hahaha ! A crocodile does shed tears when it swallows a particularly huge prey.
