American Freedom Party is a centrist movement that rails against the influence of special interest groups. In many ways it promotes the same ideals as the occupy movement. We aim to control special interests by controlling the amount of money that they can spend to influence the system. Follow the thread on Facebook.

Sitting outside the system throwing an occasional rock doesn't do anything. If a third party could capture even 10% of the vote it would force issues to the table. It's a mistake to focus on the presidency anyhow, the power to make laws is in congress.

And when Nader did it - we got the Iraq war & deregulation -
real progress by a third party!

Not every political party needs to run a presidential candidate. What if this party took, say, 10 seats in the Senate and 45 seats in the House? Suddenly you would have Republicans and Democrats scrambling to get these extra votes for their bills, which will create compromises and ultimately more fair legislation.

This is just a blog, extolling the usual libe(R)tarian BS.

I'm surprised it doesn't have a Mr. P ad on it somewhere.

Why post this here?

Third parties have mixed success, but it's a start. Show some results and candidates for the established parties will begin to support your ideas to get your votes too.
