Forum Post: Abortion without consent or knowledge right and left will agree that labels should be law / ban endocrine disruptor ingredients

Chemicals in everyday products you are using right now disrupt the human endocrine system and could end a pregnancy as well as cause birth defects, but there is no labeling required how about a little miscarriage with your dish soap or hand lotion?...Wallsreet doesn't want you to know that's what caused it, then you could sue them and they'd have to stop using it; labels lead to lawsuits so they'll decide if you don't mind miscarriage or birth defects. So will the Catholic church be pushing for labels on products that can potentially end pregnancy or harm an unborn child? Will they condemn WallStreet for murder? Will they call for an end to these harmful chemicals?

Disclaimer I in no way represent the EWG nor do my views nesc. coincide with theirs nor do they nesc. belong to or represent the views of Occupy; I am simply citing an article upon which I have drawn my own conclusions that I feel to be true and that you may read to determine your own conclusions.

"Genetic Roulette - The Gamble of our Lives" (Video Documentary) :

"When the United States Government ignored repeated warnings by its own scientists and allowed untested genetically modified (GM) crops into our environment and food supply, it was a gamble of unprecedented proportions. The health of all living things and all future generations were put at risk by an infant technology.

"After two decades, physicians and scientists have uncovered a grave trend. The same serious health problems found in lab animals, livestock, and pets that have been fed GM foods are now on the rise in the US population. And when people and animals stop eating genetically modified organisms (GMOs), their health improves.

"This seminal documentary provides compelling evidence to help explain the deteriorating health of Americans, especially among children, and offers a recipe for protecting ourselves and our future."

More information can be found at : http://geneticroulettemovie.com & http://responsibletechnology.org .

Be advised, I just watched this doc.and I may no longer be the same person with the same views that I was before I did. I'm going to try to sleep on it now - but waking up could be painful. I seldom comment on these matters bar occasionally kicking 'Monsatan' from an anti-corporate hegemony p.o.v. - but this shit is much deeper than that ! If dear reader, you like your world the way it is - then please don't watch this doc. and ignore this comment !! NB : There are some deep political lessons in the last 10 mins. !!!

Thanks very much for posting these links ... already took the blue pill so I will watch at least some of us are compelled to this stuff it may keep everyone else safe which brings me a kind of warm comfort to know that and those who take time to make these efforts and films are being heard and their efforts felt and meanungful and important to many people it us sad though that we myst fight so hard for these companies to stop treading on us and for what should be the basic freedoms of life clean water, unpoisoned food . Choice to go elsewhere for commodities and to shut down those who abuse the citizenry and use them as lab rats

The phrase "endocrine disruptor ingredients" are what caught my attention as I looked on the forum after I watched the documentary film linked to above and hence I felt it appropriate to link here as I get this issue a li'l bit more after reading posts like yours. Thanx & I further append this interesting piece :

Dr. Shiva briefly features in "Genetic Roulette" and I have known about her ever since I became aware of the machinations of Monsatan and she is an absolute legend in this field and is an implacable foe to Monsanto. Dr. Shiva is a warrior heroine for The Indian and Global 99%. Thus, some further links :

I especially recommend the last link & thanx for www.ewg.org and amen to "the power of information" !!

Matt you are misinformed genetic modification is NOT crossbreeding. Genetic modification uses iradiation or gold particles or virus to get past the immune defense cell walls of the plant to introduce foreign and unstable DNA that changes the structures of the cell into a cell now unrecognizable by our bodies which have evolved over millions of years to recognize and which use this food which our bodies evolved to use to create new cells and initiate processes throughout our bodies. The unstable man made cells can also invade our own cells and multiply creating hazards like cancer, infertility, and who knows what else since it has not been studied in humans before we've all been used as guinea pigs. Cross breeding on the other hand the food combines cells our body knows and regognizes to use as food and create healthy normal cells it does NOT RECODE the plants DNA structure as does GM which changes it the genetic structure into something our bodies may even attack and create an immune response and treat it as a foreign invador instread if food. This could trigger any number of autoimmune diseases. Once these foreign cells are in us and comingle with our own DNA it could cause genetic screw ups on any number of body proccesses as well as cause birth defects in our offspring. Could also be responsible for genetic problems like Autism. A very informative film on the exact processes used to create GM is The Future of Food. If you like biology you will find it interesting to learn. They have also begun to do things like make crops that will not reproduce and patent crops that contaminate other farms fields with crops that are built to resist pesticides the same companies make so they can alone survive the massive doses. Patenting something that can reproduce invade other fields and crops and that is resistant to pesticides so they can sue other farmers who didn't even know their fields were invaded and contaminated. They are also combining spermicides and pharmeceuticals as well as plastics in crops that may reproduce and spread. Scary stuff and it is far from the same as cross breeding. Companies were never allowed to patent food but the fact that they can throw in new DNA has given them legal maneuvering to be able to do so and to begin patenting life forms and genes as well.

I genetically modify my rats by selectively breading them

double line break makes a paragraph

dogs have been breed so large or small that their systems break down

[-] 1 points by elf3 (4203) 11 years ago

I see science is not your strong point "paid propagandist" in the wake of your totally assinine response is my only conclusion. You failed biology right? It would take thousands of years to genetically alter rats DNA at the same structure levels being achieved today...before the advent of this new technology it wouldn't be possible to marry two entirely seperate DNA structures from incompatible species such as a fish and a tomato ...your're talking nonsense but it's fine just educate yourself all I hope for I think the more people that don't comprehend opens the door to question and new understanding. Ask lots of questions and look for the answers. The key to education the one schools never could provide -misunderstandings are opportunities. I'm no scientist myself don't fully understand alk there is to learn on this subject but Think about thousands of years to evolve and adapt to new food / cell vs a year it can't happen our bodies can't adapt in a year to recognize man made DNA as food nor can it properly use it for nourishment that's why all these chemicals and man made processed foods are killing us off. From what I comprehend GM is even more dangerous because it interwines with our own cells and DNA physically altering our makeup from the inside out and even passes down to our offspring.

unless we count virus

which grew dna inside host cells

before humans ever appeared

[-] 1 points by elf3 (4203) 11 years ago

Did you pull this off the net and how would that be pertinent a virus can evolve fast is your point or non point that's why they can sweep through an area and wipe out entire populations...probably not good when something can alter so quickly and our bodies can't keep up... right though? I also think bacteria and humans evolved side by side we have good bacteria we have bonded with in symbiosis our whole bodies contain and are covered in microbes that have evolvedwith us suddely introduce a new gene cell / DNA in could disrupt this perfect symbiosis and the outcome could be unsettling

May you live in interesting times

No known user of the English phrase has supplied the purported Chinese language original, and the Chinese language origin of the phrase, if it exists, has not been found, making its authenticity, at least in its present form, very doubtful.

Interesting post. GMO is very bad. Now they are manipulating the fish to grow quicker too.

"The World According to Monsanto" (Doc.110m) :

"There’s nothing they are leaving untouched: the mustard, the okra, the bringe oil, the rice, the cauliflower. Once they have established the norm: that seed can be owned as their property, royalties can be collected. We will depend on them for every seed we grow of every crop we grow. If they control seed, they control food, they know it – it’s strategic. It’s more powerful than bombs. It’s more powerful than guns. This is the best way to control the populations of the world. The story starts in the White House, where Monsanto often got its way by exerting disproportionate influence over policymakers via the “revolving door”. One example is Michael Taylor, who worked for Monsanto as an attorney before being appointed as deputy commissioner of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 1991. While at the FDA, the authority that deals with all US food approvals, Taylor made crucial decisions that led to the approval of GE foods and crops. Then he returned to Monsanto, becoming the company’s vice president for public policy.

"Thanks to these intimate links between Monsanto and government agencies, the US adopted GE foods and crops without proper testing, without consumer labelling and in spite of serious questions hanging over their safety. Not coincidentally, Monsanto supplies 90 percent of the GE seeds used by the US market. Monsanto’s long arm stretched so far that, in the early nineties, the US Food and Drugs Agency even ignored warnings of their own scientists, who were cautioning that GE crops could cause negative health effects. Other tactics the company uses to stifle concerns about their products include misleading advertising, bribery and concealing scientific evidence."

Monsanto dropped around 20 mill on the Republican Party in Cali to do this bullshit "Prop 37 is Bad for Farmers" campaign. And of course all the idiot Republicans did no homework and just went off the TV.

Yep, "'Monsatan' Trumps Food Safety and Democracy (Again)", by Charlotte Silver :

"On June 21, 2012 the United States Senate voted overwhelmingly against the Sanders Amendment that would have allowed states to pass legislation that required food and beverage products to label whether or not they contain genetically engineered ingredients.

"The amendment, proposed by Independent Senator from Vermont, Bernie Sanders, is particularly relevant as many states prepare to vote on a ballot initiatives that would require such labelling of genetically modified (GM) foods.

"Lobbyists from the biotech industry have ardently opposed GMO labelling. These opponents argue that because food labelling has historically been handled by the Food and Drug Association (FDA), it is a federal issue and, therefore, individual states do not have the right to implement such legislation. Indeed, in the case of Vermont, Sanders' home state, Monsanto successfully intimidated the state legislature from voting on a bill that would have required GMO labelling."

Monsatan is pretty much out of control in The U$A ! Quiescence Is Sterile !! Resistance Is Fertile !!!

Another Dirty Secret of Monsanto - 'Secret Virus Hidden In GMO Crops' -

http://www.nationofchange.org/safety-group-blows-lid-secret-virus-hidden-gmo-crops-1360337646 -

'Yet another disturbing reason has emerged as to why you should be avoiding health-devastating genetically modified organisms, and it may be one of the most concerning yet. We know that GMO consumption has been linked to a host of serious conditions, but one thing we are not so sure about is the recent discovery of a hidden viral gene deep within genetically modified crops.'

'For years, GMOs have been consumed knowingly and unknowingly around the globe, with Monsanto and the United States government claiming that the altered franken crops are perfectly safe despite very limited (or virtually none in some cases) initial testing and scientists speaking out against the dangers. One such danger that has actually not been spoken about has been revealed in a recent report by a safety watchdog group known as the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).'
