Good thing O-bomb-ya promised never ever to abuse the powers in the NDAA!

He kindly left that up to the next president to decide!

Having the power to raise awareness of a monstrosity and not doing so is the same as committing the act itself.

Giving a potential president Romney the powers is the same as abusing them himself.

I'm downvoting that! How dare you say anything even uncomplimentary about our gracious leader!

The erosion of constitutional protections for American citizens from their own government continues at an accelerating pace. Since 9/11 government leaders have continued to terrorize the public with Al Qaeda hobgoblins, who, according to our fearless representatives, intend to blow up the civilized world.

The 9/11 attack opened a Pandora's Box of repressive laws designed not to protect the American public from terrorists, but to shield the government and its masters from from any hint of rebellion. Basically, the right to writs of habeas corpus has been suspended, the right to free assembly has been heavily restricted, and Gestapo-like tactics by police agencies have become the norm.

9/11 may have been a disaster for the American public and for Al Qaeda, but it's has been a boon for the 1% and its governments.

I believe the purpose of that article was to point out the absurdity of the NDAA law. Still scary stuff, though.
