if a law was passed requiring those companies to install and pay for life for city water to every resident affected this would not be happening. but they dont care about you, all they care about is the $$

You dumbass, now the Canadians will be selling that oil to China raising our prices and further crippling our economy.

[-] 2 points by uncleduck (10) 12 years ago

Yea, That will be an easy pipeline.

[-] 0 points by KahnII (170) 12 years ago

yea it will be easy, it goes UNDER the ground. Once it's in place no one will notice it. We benefit and so does Canada.

First, if me and my countrymen don't drop the ball too much, we won't be sending that oil anywhere, at least not before the public can get a decent deal out of selling their environmental future. Second, it's pretty damn obvious at this point that the race, for energy independance and economical advantage, isn't about who can scrape up more oil, but about who can produce and deploy the best new technologies for energy production (solar, nuclear, wind, tide, whatever).

Like, energy does not equal oil. Incidentally, the Chinese have realized that, and are investing heavily in those technologies. They still need oil, to tide them over and because they're still playing catch up in many areas, but they aren't blind to the facts.

Developing and deploying new technologies and related infrastructures also creates good long term jobs at all skill levels, from r&d to construction, and produces valuable national expertise. Unlike digging a tunnel or remaining dependant on a single, shrinking, non-renewable natural ressource whose extraction, already heavily subsidized, is increasingly costly, even ignoring, as we do, the environmental cost, and/or sensitive to global politics.

You got that right. China will have oil, Middle East has oil (and they can cut us off or raise it through the roof) and our "Non leader" Obummer will not allow new drilling here. Yet the liberals love this guy

yea but you are asking a protester and probably a democrat to understand the result of an action. It's just too difficult.

Also, here's a TIP:

Buy stock in the producers and builders of XL. This will get approved after the election (if not before!!). And the media has beat down all of their stock prices.

Plus commodity prices will rise, when the euro gets clipped up, and we continue to print money!...

The pitch that an above ground pipeline can pollute an aquifer is pretty weak. Very weak actually.

BUY.

Fracking is fucking awesome.

My dad made like 4 mm on leases last year alone. And its totally clean

Don't listen to liars about fracking. It's clean, profitable and it produces a green source of energy!!!

Sure, energy is bad. Let's stop drilling and let's stop pipelines. Then let's all bitch about unemployment and how people can't afford to drive and heat their houses.

Just another dummy poster that so typifies the OWS fleabaggers.
