I am so impressed by all of you. As someone who went through the occupation of Wounded Knee, in 1973, I have appreciation for the heart, intelligence, fluidity and guts it requires to take a stand. Though the occupation at Wounded Knee was not immediately successful in restoring Indigenous rights, it galvanized attention, changed public opinion, and eventually the First Nations won. We must now restore the rights of all the people. One day, America will come to know you as heroes.
