'The Second Amendment was Ratified to Preserve Slavery' http://truth-out.org/news/item/13890-the-second-amendment-was-ratified-to-preserve-slavery
Now we are movie critics?
Another 'Django Unchained' Trailer Shines the Sun on All of Us http://www.iamrogue.com/news/movie-news/item/7928-django-unchained.html
Django Unchained - Official Trailer (HD) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eUdM9vrCbow
Have you considered-
This is not a movie about the evils of slavery
This is not a movie about an African-American hero.
This is not a move of the brutality of one group of Americans against another.
I believe that the core of this movie is a lesson on the source of bigotry and hate THAT WE LIVE WITH TODAY
and is bred & taught to generation after generation in the confederacy
"This is not a movie about the evils of slavery This is not a movie about an African-American hero. This is not a move of the brutality of one group of Americans against another."
Really? lol Hmmm I never considered that actually. Thanks for clearing that up for me :-)
Have you ever considered that it really IS a movie about the evils of slavery? And that maybe we should no longer tolerate the modern slavery THAT WE LIVE WITH TODAY in our modern world?
Did you get this shook up over Machete too?
It made some comment on immigration.
If you want documentaries try Michael Moore.
if you want documentaries try werner herzog.
Werner is one of the best film makers that's ever been.
prolific too.
57 films and counting
Oh there are soooo many where to start?
Life of Pi is a much better story - it's interesting to note that the #1 movie right now is a violent movie.
Life of Pi is for everyone - excellent movie - no violence - just a story that has substance - and no violence.
zero dark thirty is number one and wholesome entertainment the whole family should enjoy together and then discuss.
lol
yep take your 7 year olds to watch american exceptionalism at it's finest.
Will it be on the Disney channel soon?
you mean the attraction at disney world and epcot center. that is already open. they even let you kill a few afghans it is no big deal just call them bug splat and you never even have to think of them as human.
OH - early indoctrination at a fun theme park - they never had stuff like this when I was a kid.
really? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i5idAOl9J-Y like that?
I have encountered this though : war
Nope never encountered that either.
what about http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fTqesLu8fu8 ?
Nope never been exposed to those kind of fanatics either. Well the occasional door to door visit by clean cut young Mormons.
The story of Life of Pi is actually a metaphor of some very personal and extreme violence.
You should have paid more attention at the end.
I agree though a touching and beautiful movie.
The only violence if you want to call it that is "animals instinct to survive" and it was only in a short clip of the movie.
It's not like all the other violent movies out there that have people getting killed and maimed continously throught the movie.
Messed up thing about Django- they put it off because of Sandy Hook.
And then QT doesnt want to talk about the relation violence has in teh community.
And then they decide to release it on Christmas....which is technically one of Christianity's most holiest days, or is suppose to be.
But Christmas is a celebration of consumerism here and now, so I guess it makes sense.
Quentin Tarantino rocks. I haven't seen it yet, but I am going to.
Ain't seen it but kinda thought I would feel as you described.
Have you ever questioned your sanity?
I question Tarintino's.
Tarantino loses temper in interview: ‘I am not your slave’: http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2013/01/11/tarantino-loses-temper-in-interview-i-am-not-your-slave/
No need to. He's right in that if you want to know how he feels then you can sift through about 20 years of interviews with this same topic.
So whites should be slaughtered by blacks. And since there is still slavery in many parts of the world should they be murdered too?
That's your reply? Seriously? lol
It's a movie based on a comic book.
Get a grip, man.
Where do you get your info from? The comic book is actually based on the full unedited movie screenplay: A Look Inside Tarantino’s Django Unchained Comic Book http://www.wired.com/underwire/2012/12/django-unchained-comic/
My mistake, sorry.
It was based on an anime.
an anime?
Yep.

anime
Anime Character Profile: Django http://www.absoluteanime.com/one_piece/django.htm "Django is part of the Black Cat pirates. His specialty is hypnosis. He uses this three years ago when Captain Kuro decided to disappear from the world. He hypnotized a sailor claiming to be captain Kuro, and a young Ax-hand Morgan saying that he's the one who captured Kuro. He accidentally hypnotized himself.
Three years later, he shows up to where Kuro is, and as one of Usopp's veggie pirates says a backwards man. When he talks to Kuro near a beach, he hypnotized Luffy. Also during the battle, he hypnotized the crew thinking that they were stronger (Luffy gets hypnotized again). He also threw catamarans at Nami, but it hit Luffy when he woke up after being put to sleep by him. He gets Miss Kaya to make out a will saying that all her money goes to her butler. He gets defeated by Usopp."
Yep. That pretty much sums up the plot of the movie DJANGO UNCHAINED in a nutshell. It's almost identical. What a rip off! How did QT get away with such blatant plagiarism?? I mean come on! He even used the same name!! LOL [Insert Sarcasm Here]
I'm sure he paid for anything under copy write.
If not there will be courts involved.
Plus I'm thinkin' if anime was involved somewhere down the line manga was published as well, so "based on comics" really isn't wrong to say.
But there is so much joy in murder in this film. Didn't you read to OP?
Some people will be happy the NHL is back too.
That's just a game.
In case you don't know yet, counterpunch.com like to stir things up.
Take the movie for what it's worth.
A movie, based on a comic book and I'll bet you the comic is even worse.
I. Guess I was just thrown by the intense racist hatred In the OP. And the favorable response it received here.
What are you talking about --"the OP"?
Quentin has a lot of fans.
My wife want's to go see it. /shrug/
